POSITION SUMMARY:

Work consists of supervising and coordinating the installation, alteration, addition, and repair of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the construction industry. The Electrical Superintendent oversees field personnel, ensures work is completed according to project specifications and safety standards, and coordinates jobsite activities to meet project schedules and quality expectations.

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of electricians, apprentices, and field personnel
  • Plan and organize electrical work in accordance with project drawings and specifications
  • Oversee installation of feeders, conduit systems, switchgear, devices, motors, and control systems
  • Review layout and preparation for electrical installations including underground rough-in
  • Ensure electrical installations comply with NFPA 70 National Electrical Code and project requirements
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment needed for project completion
  • Monitor job progress to ensure work is completed on schedule and within scope
  • Identify and resolve field issues, installation conflicts, and technical problems
  • Coordinate work with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, and other trades
  • Conduct jobsite safety meetings and ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety policies
  • Inspect completed work to verify quality and compliance with plans and specifications
  • Mentor and train electricians and apprentices in proper installation practices and safety procedures
  • Maintain accurate jobsite documentation including reports, schedules, and crew assignments
  • Possess the skills and knowledge of lower job titles including Foreman and Electrician
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a professional and timely manner

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location and time of year (heat, humidity, cold, rain and snow)
  • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns)
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other elevated work areas as needed
  • Perform work at various heights (up to 100’) when required to oversee field operations
  • Work in restricted areas (switchgear rooms, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics)
  • Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, face mask/shield and gloves – at all times), respirator when required
  • Able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime as required, including night shifts and weekends if needed

 

EDUCATIONAL/PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Current valid driver’s license
  • Extensive experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship and valid electrician's license or equivalent work experience required
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Attention to detail

  • Service oriented with good communication and people skills
  • Thorough understanding of electrical theory and NFPA 70 National Electrical Code

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead
  • Must be able to lift up to 51 pounds at a time, with heavier requirements met with assistance from lifting aids or co-workers
  • Must be able to climb ladders and access all levels of construction sites
  • Must be capable of walking job sites for extended periods while supervising field work
  • Must possess good vision (normal or corrected) and must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring
  • Must be able to access construction areas using OSHA-approved ladders or stairs under construction but acceptable for use
  • Responsible for ensuring tools, materials, and equipment are properly used and maintained by field crews
  • Ensure proper housekeeping practices are maintained on job sites

POSITION SUMMARY:  Jesse Stutts, Inc. (JSI) is seeking a BIM Draftsman to produce coordinated 3D drawings for electrical systems across our projects. This position provides drafting and design support using Revit to ensure all deliverables meet applicable standards and project requirements.

To be successful in this role, the candidate must be able to perform all essential job functions effectively. The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Review architectural, structural, electrical, and telecom floor plans, sections, and elevations using Bluebeam, Procore and Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Design, model, and coordinate electrical systems in Revit
  • Use Navisworks to coordinate modeled content with other project trades
  • Incorporate marked-up drawings into Revit in accordance with JSI BIM Department standards
  • Produce detailed 3D drawings, including installation details, to support prefabrication and field installation
  • Monitor installation progress against the model and produce complete as-built documentation as required
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and project team members to support project execution
  • Manage assigned project workflows and complete tasks within established schedules and estimated hours
  • Adhere to all company, client, and project-specific policies and procedures
  • Represent JSI in a professional and courteous manner at all times
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external project teams
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certificate or diploma of CAD/BIM proficiency from a technology based educational facility, traditional College, or adequate structural drafting/modeling experience is preferred.
  • Associates degree in CAD/BIM studies is preferred.
  • A college degree, journeyman’s license, or master electrician’s license is preferred.
  • 2-3 years or related experience is preferred
  • Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam and MS Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have the mental capacity to understand and apply job-related concepts, technologies, instructions, procedures, computer and software operations, input data and create/annotate drawings with a very high degree of accuracy on a consistent basis with high throughput and minimum supervision.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Performance of the required duties will sometimes require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction
  • Specific visions abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • Performing this job requires the use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

  • Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to perform tasks effectively with little or no direct supervision
  • Must possess a good work ethic, have good attendance and excellent quality of work product
  • Perform all tasks and duties in a timely and professional manner

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location and time of year (heat, humidity, cold, rain and snow).
  • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns)
  • Job requires employees to always have personal tools with them. Waist tool belt as worn weighs approximately 30 lbs.
  • Work from all types of ladders, step ladders up to 14’ and all sizes of extension ladders. Be able to carry and relocate up to 12’ step ladder by one’s self.
  • Employee’s personal weight and personal tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladder. (Type-1, 250 lbs, Type-1A, 300 lbs and Type-1AA, 375 lbs)
  • Perform work at various heights (up to 100’) from ladders, scaffolds, Ariel lifts, cat walks or other areas
  • Work in restricted areas (Switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics)
  • Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, face mask/shield and gloves – at all times), respirator when required.

POSITION SUMMARY:     

The Construction Laborer will perform a wide range of physical labor tasks in support of electricians, and other workers on the construction site.

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists skilled workers as assigned. This may include jobs such as carrying conduit, or ladders.
  • Unloads materials that are delivered and distributes them to appropriate location as identified by supervisor, project plans, or specifications.
  • Cleans and prepares specific areas of jobsite as assigned. This may include digging trenches; erecting scaffolding; cleaning up rubble, debris, and trash; or removing hazardous materials.
  • Motions equipment operator to assist with alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
  • Cleans jobsite at the end of the day, ensuring trash is properly disposed of and materials or equipment are properly stored.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions.
  • Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change.
  • Ability to work with a variety of personalities.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic as needed to count and take inventory.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior job experience preferred.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas such as ceiling crawl spaces, equipment enclosures, closets, etc.
  • Must be able to lift arms above shoulder level to work in ceiling areas, on light fixtures, etc. for extended lengths of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements.
  • Must be able to work at heights greater than ten feet.
  • Must be able to walk on rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, up to eight hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs while carrying heavy objects weighing between 40 and 50 pounds for distances of 20 feet or more.
  • Must be able to work overtime and some weekends, when needed.
